Since those humble beginnings we have grown and expanded as a direct response to the needs of our community. We now support trans and Gender Variant people across West Yorkshire in a range of ways both practical and emotional. Social Groups Our social events are just as important as our support groups, bringing the community together. If you need support please do. Any LGBT person who feels that attending the groups would be beneficial to their mental health is welcome to attend.

All of our LGBT group work now takes place on one day, meaning that only LGBT groups will be meeting in the house on that day, to ensure that visitors feel safe and comfortable. We are a safe, supportive space where you can share your thoughts and feelings and discuss coping strategies, alongside other LGBT people. Sunday will see the big march begin on The Headrow gransexual 1pm, with a gig night planned to round off the festival.

The University will treat all trans employees and students with respect and strive to provide a positive transesual and learning environment free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation, to enable them to achieve the best outcomes. This includes non-binary people and anyone questioning their gender identity. Advocacy We can go with you for appointments with your GP, the Gender Identity Clinic, your employer and anywhere else we can help! The local transgender community were tired of feeling pushed aside by the LGB side of the community especially when it came to pride celebrations, so in true Leeds fashion armed with a Do-It-Yourself ethos, we created our own pride here in Leeds.

The festival, which officially starts on Thursday, March 28, will see transexxual rights championed in the build up to Trans Day of Visibility on Sunday, March Every fourth Monday of the month is either our Men's Group or Women's Group which alternate month to month. Guidance to support trans staff and students
The main support group is on the first Monday of every month and is followed by a quiet social in a local friendly bar. We look at issues around being LGBT, as well as general mental health issues and how we can work with them.
In particular, details of section 3, section 5 and Appendix 1 of the guidance are likely to change. This includes those who have non-binary, non-gender, agender or gender-fluid identities. Guidance to Support Trans Staff and Students The trans flag The University celebrates and values the diversity of its staff and students and believes that the employment and inclusion of trans people at all levels of responsibility and trans students within our community enriches our University environment. Special film screenings and live performances are planned, and the main event will see hundreds march through the heart of the city centre, with the organisers encouraging people to bring flags and banners to make a real show of visibility against trans inequality.

Trans Pride Leeds knows the importance of prioritising trans, non-binary and intersex people and are ever determined to be community-led and be by trans people for trans people.
Festival A huge programme of events complements the march every year.
More social events are organised every month. It starts with a 'Geek Retreat Doodle Day' in the Central Arcade on Thursday, where local indie publishers Dragonhide Studios will give tips on how to make greeting cards and badges. We also provide transgender trandexual training to companies and other organisations, and work together with government bodies including the NHS, National Ambulance Service, West Yorkshire Police, HM Prison Service and Leeds City Council in improving the lives of all transgender people in and around Leeds.
Trans pride leeds events, ticket information, march details, road closures and more
This group is peer-led so everyone who attends identifies as LGBT, including volunteers and group workers. Every third Thursday the mid-month support group runs alongside free and confidential STI testing provided by Yorkshire Mesmac, and a counsellor from Forward Leeds is available to talk to regarding alcohol and substance use. Performance, film, craft, games, karaoke and more. We also offer training for companies wanting to educate themselves and their staff about Trans and Non Binary people.
By us, for us Trans, non-binary and intersex voices are lost in the noise at Leeds Pride. They're responsible for managing the day to day operations of the charity.
